VASCO: A huge tree collapsed on a house near Rego Bar in Vaddem, Vasco on Wednesday evening.
Vasco Fire Officer Dilip Bicholkar said that on receiving information that a huge tree collapsed on a house, he rushed to the spot with a team of fire fighters.
“On reaching the site, we found that a huge tree had collapsed on the house bringing down a coconut tree and some electric wires. Keeping the safety aspect in mind, we called the electricity officials to disconnect the wires,” he said.
He said that thereafter with the help of hydraulic crane, both the trees were removed from the house and chopped.
“We managed to save property worth around Rs 4 lakh and the loss of property was around Rs 20,000,” Bicholkar said.
“Since the house was vacant when the trees collapsed, no one was injured in the incident,” Bicholkar added.
