Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said a serious security incident unfolded on a flight from Dubai to Israel after one pilot allegedly stabbed the second pilot and apparently attempted to crash the aircraft.
According to Netanyahu, an Israeli passenger and a crew member managed to enter the cockpit and restrain the pilot while another crew member helped stabilise the plane.

The aircraft was eventually landed safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia, with all passengers reported to be out of danger. The pilot accused of the stabbing was arrested and is being questioned by Saudi authorities.
Netanyahu praised the passengers and crew for their “exceptional resourcefulness and courage”, saying they prevented a major disaster.
He said Israeli authorities remain in contact with the relevant authorities and are working to ensure the passengers’ safety and return home.
Netanyahu also said Israel’s security services have been instructed to prepare for any additional potential threats.
