GOA RECORDS BIGGEST RAINFALL DEFICIT IN 47 YEARS

Goa has recorded its largest rainfall deficit in 47 years, with the state receiving 2,055.4 mm of rain against the normal 3,007.8 mm, marking a 31.7% shortfall. North Goa recorded a 36.8% deficit, while South Goa saw rainfall 26.9% below normal. September witnessed the biggest monthly deficit of the season. Valpoi recorded the highest seasonal rainfall at 2,836.7 mm, while Panaji received the lowest at 1,385 mm. The figures highlight a significant departure from Goa’s normal rainfall pattern this monsoon season.
