Kohli-Rohit era in ODIs set to create commercial buzz worldwide

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are set to dominate headlines over the next 18 months as India shifts focus to ODI cricket ahead of the 2027 World Cup. Both former captains are now playing only ODIs, having retired from Test and T20Is. The demand to see them in action extends beyond India, with fans worldwide requesting more ODIs from the BCCI. The 50-over format is expected to be a commercial bonanza.

According to the Indian Express, India is scheduled to play three white-ball games against Ireland during a tour of England. While the exact format is undecided, it could be three ODIs. The England Cricket Board (ECB) has reportedly asked the BCCI to increase the number of ODIs in June. Currently, India is set to play three ODIs and five T20Is on that tour.
