QUEPEM: The government on Thursday launched a Kadamba bus service to one of the State’s remotest villages Mangal, in Sanguem.
The Mangal village in Sanguem is situated on the hilltop in Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary.

Speaking to the media persons after the launch of the bus service, Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar said that it is a welcome move by the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) to connect the villages as remote as Mangal with bus service. Government of Goa under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is committed towards the all-round development of the State and while making the State self-reliant, the last mile connectivity will play an important role.
“Being an Agriculture Minister, I have initiated various schemes through the Agriculture Department to benefit the farmers,” he informed.
He said that various plans are being chalked out to popularise and simplify the community farming under which 90 per cent subsidy is rolled out to the farmers.
Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar, South Goa Zilla Panchayat member Khushali Velip, Rivona Zilla Panchayat member Suresh Kepekar, Sarpanch Samiksha Desai, ESG Chairman Subhash Faldesai, General Manager of KTCL Sanjay Ghate, Vision Sanguem Convenor and social worker Savitri Kavlekar, panch Sandeep Malkarnekar and Tolyo Velip were present.
Ghate disclosed how the KTCL is operating in few remote routes only to help the citizens. KTCL is operating in some routes which will never make profits. But the KTCL will still go ahead in providing service on these routes, as the corporation is there for the people of Goa to provide uninterrupted service.
A villager, Pratibha Sudhakar Velip, thanked the Deputy Chief Minister for keeping up the promise that he made while campaigning for Zilla Panchayat member Khushali.
