PERNEM: The Pernem Excise Department seized liquor worth over Rs four lakh which was “illegally” transported via Patradevi check post, on Sunday.
Sources informed that a team headed by Inspector Amol Harwalkar intercepted a vehicle transporting goods of a company at around 2.30 am, proceeding to Rajkot.

After checking the vehicle, the excise team seized 136 boxes of country-made liquor worth Rs 4.07 lakh and attached the vehicle.
It is pertinent to note that this is the second such raid in the last two days. The Excise Department team comprised Vibhuti Shetye, Devu Raul, Anil Gaonkar and Harish Naik.
