Lobo has ulterior motive in opening Taleigao ODP: Naik

PANJIM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Taleigao Mandal suspects an ulterior motive in North Goa Planning Development authority (NGPDA) chairman Michael Lobo opening the Taleigao Outline development Plan (ODP) for alteration.

Addressing the media, mandal president Dattaprasad Naik criticized Lobo’s decision and alleged a connection between Lobo and St Cruz MLA Atanasio (Babush) Monserrate that led to the opening of the ODP.
Though, Naik did not name Monserrate, he indicated this to media saying, “Today water is entering residential houses in Taleigao as a result of last ten years concretization of Taleigao. I need not  specify who is responsible for this,” Naik said.
Naik said the entire exercise of opening ODP is a big corruption game.
He said the mandal will oppose if any fields and hill slopes are converted or touched in Taleigao and demanded the scrapping of proposed roads though paddy fields. Naik claimed that if NGPDA does not scrap these roads it will open the floodgates to real estate conversions.
