CANACONA: The two-day 14th Lokotsav-2014 which was inaugurated by the Arts & Culture Minister on Saturday afternoon was cancelled following the tragedy at the building under construction at Chaudi-Canacona.
Organising Chairman and Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, who himself resides in the Ruby residency complex, where one under construction building collapsed shortly after the Lokotsav inaugural function ended, informed that the event had been cancelled immediately and all activities related to the programme came to an abrupt end.
In a press note, Adarsh Gram informed that the event had been cancelled forthwith and no activities would be held on Sunday.
Adarsh Gram in association with the Arts & Culture department was organsing the event at Amone-Poinguinim and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had just addressed the function before the building under-construction building collapsed at Chaudi.
