Mapusa Court Grants Bail to Ajay Gupta in Birch Excise Licence Forgery Case

The Mapusa Additional Sessions Court has granted bail to accused Ajay Gupta in connection with a case registered by Mapusa police for allegedly forging documents to obtain an excise licence for Birch and cheating the authorities.

Gupta was booked after police initiated an investigation into alleged irregularities surrounding the procurement of the excise licence, during which it was claimed that forged documents were used to mislead the concerned departments.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court allowed Gupta’s bail application, subject to conditions.

Further investigation in the case is continuing, and police said additional action will be taken based on the findings of the probe.
