PANJIM: The anti corruption branch (ACB) seized incriminating documents from the office of the Mapusa sub divisional magistrate (SDM) indicating gross irregularities while dealing with matters pertaining to resurvey and partition of properties.
The raid carried out on Tuesday followed a complaint filed by Congress general secretary Sunil Kawthankar with the Goa government alleging certain files and related documents were missing during the tenure of former SDM Sabaji Shetye.
“These are cases related to resurvey of CRZ areas and partitions. The sleuths may conduct another search of the office soon,” an official said.
In the six-hour raid that concluded at about 4pm, the ACB officials collected large volumes of documents pertaining to the case. Sources said officials from the SDM office, including Shetye, will be summoned for questioning.
