MARGAO: The Margao Municipal Council has decided to maintain the seven-day fair as it is at Old market area of Margao city on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception on December 8.
The civic body has clarified that fair will be held beyond the roads leading from Margao to Panjim, Margao to Colva and Margao to Ponda, including the Old market area of the city. However, the Municipality has clarified that the vendors will not be permitted to occupy the public roads and footpaths attached to the roads for displaying their articles for sale during the fair.
Allotment of space to the vendors intending to carry out the business during the fair will start with effect from December 2. The area of the space is demarcated with white paints as per zones ABCD of 2×2 mts size. A fee of Rs 2800 for seven days will be charged per stall, in addition to the garbage collection fee of Rs 500.
