MARGAO: South Goa district Collector Venancio Furtado’s ‘Administration to the people’s doorsteps’ reached Nuvem constituency on Friday even as the two-day camp was inaugurated at the hands of Nuvem MLA and RDA Minister Mickky Pacheco.
In his address, Mickky appealed to the people to make good use of the camp. He said the camp will facilitate issuance of certificates to the people right at the people’s door steps. “We have received good response for the camp from the villagers. The concept is laudable since it saves the people, especially the senior citizens, from running from pillar to post in the district Collectorate. People can now get their certificates and other schemes right here in Nuvem,” he said.
District Collector Venancio Furtado said the exercised initiated in entire South Goa district has evoked positive response from the people. “The exercise is being undertaken in all the six talukas of South Goa. And, we have chalked out an elaborate plan wherein the officials will return back to the villages after three months. This will help in follow up action,” Furtado added.
As far as Nuvem is concerned, Furtado said though the camp is only for two days, the administration may extend the same for a day if the need arises.
