PORVORIM: Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education on Wednesday clarified that discrepancies in internal marks of Class XII Science stream on mark sheets were caused due to mistakes by the schools and not the Board.
Speaking to Herald, GBSHSE Chairman, Jose Rebello said, “Yes, it was brought to our notice by parents from Shantadurga HSS in Bicholim on Friday. After students were allotted the mark sheets on Thursday (April 27) the next day parents came to us stating that marks were wrong. We crosschecked with the marks which came to us from that school and saw that the marks were correct.” He added, “Later there was a letter stating that the marks submitted by the school were wrong. Almost all the students marks were wrong, either they were exchanged or jumbled up. This issue has happened not only in Bicholim there are other schools in Vasco, Quepem and Canacona in which only a few students’ marks were sent to us wrong.” The board made it clear that new revised certificates were issued to students late evening on May 2.
