MARGAO: The evaluation committee constituted by Margao Municipal Council is scheduled to meet on August 11 to take a decision on opening the financial bid for the door to door garbage collection as there are still some questions over the technical bid.
Representatives of Science and Technology Department and Goa State Pollution Control Board had raised questions about the methodology to be adopted by the bidders not only for the door to door collection of garbage but also its transportation.
“We have replied to those questions stating that the contractor will handle both these aspects,” Municipal Engineer Surendra Gaonkar said adding that the reply has been submitted to the Director of Municipal Administration.
He was hopeful that at the meeting on August 11 the matter will be finalized and the financial bid will be opened thus paving way for door to door garbage collection to be privatized in Margao.
