MoI case hearing adjourned to 10th Jan

PANJIM: High Court of Bombay at Goa Thursday further adjourned hearing of final arguments in the Medium of Instruction (MoI) case to January 10.

The division bench is hearing a petition filed by Dr. P R Nadkarni and others challenging the cabinet decision and subsequent circular issued by the department of education.

The Court on December 22, 2011 had directed Goa government to file ‘the action taken report,’ by January 4, 2012, against those schools that had changed the MoI despite the Court giving directives.

On July 18, 2011, the High Court had passed an order that the cabinet decision and the circular should not be implemented until further orders.
