Moti Dongor attack accused get bail

The South Goa Sessions court on Tuesday granted conditional bail to the three persons arrested by the Margao police in the Moti Dongor attack case.
Additional Sessions Judge Desmond D’Costa granted bail to the accused upon furnishing a bail bond of Rs 10,000 each with one identical surety.
The accused were further directed not to interfere with the witnesses, with further directions to furnish documents confirming their place of permanent residence.
The Judge observed that there is no medical certificate of the injured in the case papers, indicating the gravity of the injures caused to complainant Maqbool and others.
The Judge said this is a fit case for enlarging the accused on conditional bail as nothing is required to be recovered from the accused persons, even as the Public prosecutor agreed that the complainant was discharged from the hospital after two days.
Quoting a supreme court order, Judge D’Costa observed that the Apex Court has hsled that in the exercise of Judicial discretion, inspired by the Constitutional theme as enshrined in Article 21 and 14 of the Constitution of India, the grandeur is to grant bail, wherever practicable, unless the courts are satisfied that there is reasonable likelihood of the accused fleeing from justice or absconding or polluting the same, whether by absconding, by tampering of evidence of others.
Meanwhile, the Margao police has said that the four remaining accused including Bashir Shaikh are still at large.
Police informed that the accused might surrender to the investigating agency now since the court has granted bail to the three arrested accused, who were behind bars for 14 days.
