Curchorem: A series of alleged robberies and attempted break-ins reported during the early hours of Friday has left residents of Ward No. 15 in Curchorem shaken, prompting concerns over safety and security in the area.
According to residents, CCTV footage recorded at around 3:15 a.m. shows two unidentified individuals wearing raincoats moving through the locality before allegedly targeting multiple properties.
One of the incidents occurred at the residence of Prajyot Naik in Bhatniwada, where the suspects allegedly broke the lock and entered the house. Another nearby residential property in the same locality was also reportedly targeted during the night.
In addition to the residential break-ins, a shop in Ward No. 15 was allegedly burgled by the unidentified suspects.
The robbery spree also extended to the Sateri Temple in the Curchorem Bazaar area, where an attempted break-in was reported. The suspects allegedly tried to force open the temple’s main entrance door but were unsuccessful.
The string of incidents has created an atmosphere of fear among local residents, who have urged authorities to strengthen night patrolling and take swift action to identify and apprehend those responsible.
Police are expected to examine the available CCTV footage as part of the investigation into the incidents.
