CALANGUTE: In a continuing drive against narcotic drugs, the Calangute Police apprehended a Nigerian national Chinedu Monday Nwafor with charas in the wee hours of Monday morning, at Umtawaddo, Calangute.
The accused is 30 years old and is presently residing at Gaurawaddo, Calangute. He was apprehended by PSI Vikas Deykar and assisted by police constable, Shasank Shakalkar.
He was found in possession of 29 grams of charas worth Rs 30,000. An offence is registered against him under Section 20(b)(ii) of the NDPS Act, 1985. The accused foreigner was produced before JMFC Mapusa and remanded to four days judicial custody.
PSI Damodar Shirodkar is conducting further investigation under the guidance of PI Nolasco Raposo and DySP Edwin Colaco.
