PANJIM: The State government will felicitate nine teachers with the ‘Goa State Teacher’s Award’ on Teachers Day.
A State function has been organised at Kala Academy on Wednesday, where the teachers would be awarded at the hands of Chief Secretary Dharmendra Sharma.
Primary school teacher to be felicitated is Sambhaji Vishnu Raut from Government Primary School, Mestawada, Bethoda Ponda.
In the secondary school category, the teachers are Subhash Vithu Sawant of Sateri Vidhya Mandir, Ibrahmpur, Gajanan Raghoba Shetye of Shri Shantadurga High School, Bicholim, Shweta Suhas Prabhu Dessai of Mahila and Nutan High School, Margao and Wilma Maria Pereira of Deepvihar High School, Headland Sada.
In the Tr Grade 1 category, the awardees are Cora Do Cormo Coelho of Loyola Higher Secondary School, Margao. In the headmaster’s category the award goes to Devidas Kudav, Vice Principal, District Institute of Education and Training and Girish M Tendulkar, Headmaster, Gananath English High School, Nirankal.
In the principal category, the award goes to Ramdas Vassudeo Kelkar of Sapteshwar Institute of Higher Education, Mandrem.
