CANACONA: Five schools from Canacona made it to the prestigious list of 35 schools that attained a pass percentage of 100 at the recent SSC exams. This will certainly be food-for-thought for parents who believe the taluka lacks quality education.
The five schools are Shri Nirakar Vidyalaya, Mashe-Loliem; St Sebastian HS, Loliem; Govt HS, Sadolxem; Govt HS, Gowal-Khola; and Shree Balram Residential HS, Poinguinim.
17 schools in Canacona were part of the SSC exams. At least five others had a pass percentage of over 90 per cent, including Shri Shradhanand Vidhyalaya, Poinguinim, from where two of the taluka’s highest results came.
Incidentally, while many government high schools tasted much better success than in the previous years, a few aided schools fared poorly; some could barely manage 50 per cent.
Meanwhile, chaos prevailed on Saturday evening as students tried to check their results on the website goareults.nic.in. They entered their seat numbers in the designated field before the clock could strike 6 pm, when the results would be declared. They obtained the results of the SSC Exam held in 2014.
