CUNCOLIM: More than ten dilapidated buildings in Cuncolim market are posing a threat to the lives of the occupants and those visiting the place for shopping.
These buildings are of Portuguese era and require urgent repairs. In fact, the locals have been demanding that the municipality conduct a survey of these buildings and prepare a feasibility report of them.
Recently, the Cuncolim Municipal Council had issued notices to the owners of these premises to produce the certificate saying they are fit for use. However, none of the building owner had responded to the municipal notice. Some owners say that they cannot repair their buildings as the rent received from the tenants was too meagre. On the other hand they are not allowing the tenants to repair their shops.
