A 23-year-old man from Navelim-Salcete died in a road mishap along the Panjim-Belgaum highway at Anmod Ghat, about 4.5 kms from the Mollem checkpost, on Friday evening.
According to Collem PSI Praveen Gauns, Sunil S Kulkarni was proceeding from Mollem to Belgaum on a motorcycle (GA-08-D6055), when he collided with an oncoming Maruti Omni car (GA-09-A-1824) at Anmod Ghat.
Kulkarni was seriously injured in the mishap and PSI Gauns and a police team rushed him to the ID hospital in a 108 ambulance, but he was declared dead on arrival.
The car driver has been arrested in this connection and PSI Gauns is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Manoj Mardolkar.
