CALANGUTE: Calangute police have arrested one person from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly operating a online gambling racket from Calangute market.
Ajay Kumar Mannoolal, 32, was caught red-handed after Calangute police, on receipt of reliable information on Wednesday that online gambling activities were being carried out in a closed premises in the Calangute market area, raided the place.

Ajay Kumar, a native of Uttar Pradesh presently residing at Porvorim, was arrested and has been booked under section 3 & 4 of the Public Gambling Act. Police also seized gambling material and cash totally worth Rs 42,000. Further investigations are on.
