During the inauguration of road asphalting work in Farmagudi, Dhavalikar stated that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has approved the project, which is aimed at adequately meeting the water needs of the educational institutions located at GEC.
He mentioned that the necessary procedures will be finalised, and the work is expected to begin in December.
It is pertinent to note that Farmagudi is home to GEC and numerous other technical and educational institutions, including an ITI and student hostels, catering to thousands of students, faculty, and residents of the housing board area.
He said, “This new water pipeline from Opa to Farmagudi is a crucial step towards ensuring that both the educational institutions on the Farmagudi plateau and the local residents have a reliable water supply and do not face shortages.”
Dhavalikar also inaugurated the hotmix asphalting work for the Housing Board at Farmagudi, as well as the Sambhavami Yuge Yuge and Shivneri Residential Colonies, and surrounding areas.
He appealed to the locals to refrain from dumping construction materials on the roads during monsoon to prevent damage to the newly asphalted surfaces.
He emphasised the importance of water conservation and encouraged the adoption of rainwater harvesting for gardening and other non-potable uses.
Dhavalikar also noted the progress in the Marcaim constituency, where the majority of underground power line work has been completed and connections are underway.
He said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will soon inspect the Sewerage Treatment Plant site at Undir and urged citizens to support the ongoing development initiatives.
Zilla Panchayat Member Ganpat Naik, Bandora Sarpanch Ramchandra Naik, Chitra Phadte, Vaman Naik, Anant Naik, Mithil Dhavlikar, Rajesh Kavalekar, and other dignitaries were present.
