QUEPEM: Congress-backed candidate and AAP-backed candidate on Tuesday spotted filing nominations together at Deputy Collector’s office of Quepem for the municipal election. Speculations are rife that their patrons are coming to terms for Curchorem-Cacora municipality elections under certain banner.
However, party workers hinted that some major changes are apparent and will be announced after nominations process gets over.

While the candidates were filing their nominations 20 party workers from both Congress and AAP, from different wards of Curchorem-Cacora municipality were present at Deputy Collector’s office to support the candidates. One of the candidates said, “Today 5 candidates from different ward filed nomination for municipal election.”
When James Fernandes, convenor of AAP Curchorem was asked about the development, he said, “Now we will not announce anything publically but in two to three days our stand in Curchorem-Cacora municipality election will be clear.” Pushkal Sawant the president of Congress block committee Curchorem said, “Yes this time we are taking new guard on old municipality system. Only that will bring change in municipal system of Curchorem, This time we will giving chance to new faces and young blood who will have eagerness to do well for betterment of the people and for that we should come on one platform. That platform will be announced soon.”
