MARGAO: Beleaguered residents of Moti Dongor and Talsanzor will have to keep their fingers until early next week as the Administrator of Comunidade, South, is now expected to pronounce orders on the structures atop the hillock.
While the Comunidade Administrator Sangeeta Naik was scheduled to pass orders in the illegal encroachments case this week, she has now fixed the orders for Monday or Tuesday. “I could not pronounce the orders this week since I was indisposed. Inquiry into the illegal structures is almost over. The order should come by early next week, Monday or Tuesday,” she said.
Both residents of Moti Dongor as well as Talsanzor have pleaded for protection of their structures. The residents have maintained that they have been putting up on the land owned by the Margao and Aquem Comunidades for decades and had in the past prayed for their regularisation.
Meanwhile, the residents of Talsanzor once again petitioned the Revenue Minister, Francis D’Souza, to regularise their structures. Camilo Barretto informed that they have submitted their petition to the office of the Revenue Minister with a plea to save their structures from demolition.
