MARGAO: Counting of the ballots of panchayat by-elections to be held on July 1 will be taken up at two places in the Matanhy Saldanha Administrative Complex.
All the ballot boxes will be kept in the strong room at the complex after polling is completed on July 1 and counting will begin the next day at 8 am.
Counting of votes of Chandor-Cavorim panchayat will be taken up in the chamber of the Joint Mamlatdar II where 4 counting tables will be arranged. Counting will be done of only six wards as one member has been declared elected unopposed.
Counting of ballots from Nuvem and Betalbatim will be taken up on the ground floor where 11 tables will be arranged to expedite the counting process. Counting of votes cast in Nuvem will be taken up first followed by Betalbatim.
