PANJIM: Uncertainty over the entry of sixth casino vessel, M V Lucky Seven, promoted by Golden Globe Hotel Private Limited in River Mandovi, continues as the government has not yet decided on this as instructed by the High Court of Bombay at Goa.
On Wednesday the matter was brought to the attention of the division bench of the Court by senior counsel Surendra Desai representing Golden Globe Hotel Private Limited.
He contended that the vessel should be allowed to be brought into River Mandovi at its own risk. However, the State is yet to decide on the report submitted by the Captain of Ports and the management of Golden Globe Hotel Private Limited.
Desai said that necessary arrangements have been done by the company to get the vessel into the river while the government has said that they will reply to the court on Thursday after verifying the documents submitted.
Captain of Ports (CoP) inspected the vessel which is at the distance of around 5 to 6 nautical miles away from River Mandovi and found that the engine of the vessel is in working condition.
The Court on June 19 had permitted the entry of the sixth casino vessel in River Mandovi, but only after its inspection and a government decision.
The company had prayed before the court to direct the government to allow the vessel to moor in River Mandovi as it is currently in the sea and being damaged due to the high saline content.
