MARGAO: The Paroda gram sabha after spending nearly one hour in correcting the minutes of the last gram sabha finally resolved to get the minutes of the gram sabha held on June 3, 2018 re-written and approved at the next gram sabha.
The panchayat secretary was not present for the gram sabha on account of an illness and the secretary deputed pointed out that he knows nothing about the last meeting as he was not present. Sarpanch Inacio Tereza pointed out that the minutes are written by the Secretary and the panchayat body has no role in it.
The villagers pointed out that in most cases only the suggestion or question posed by the villager were written in the minutes while the sarpancha’s reply to that were not written and they pointed out that this amounts to incomplete minutes.
After nearly one hour as there were mistakes found in practically every topic and it was decided to get the minutes re-written and presented at the next gram sabha.
The gram sabha resolved to ask the Police department to set up the Crime Prevention Education Cell in the village that would educate students to fight against crime specially those committed against children and senior citizens.
The gram sabha also approved the development plan that was prepared by the Village Development Committee at its meeting on July 26 where works like construction of roads, drains and erecting signages in each ward were listed out.
