PANJIM: Following displeasure expressed by parents over extended school timing, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has called for a special meeting of stakeholders on July 24 to arrive at unanimous solution to the grievances.
“Chief Minister will give a hearing to parents/Parents Teachers Association with respect to extended school hours on July, 24 in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Education, Porvorim, at 2.30pm. Parents and other stakeholders may remain present along with their grievances in writing with respect to extended school hours,” the government’s communiqué reads.
A section of teachers, parents and other stakeholders have been demanding that government review its decision of increasing the school hours by half-an-hour. They cited inconvenience to students for a rollback.
The Congress and NCP have also slammed government over its decision to extend school timings.
