Police transfers again, this time on recommendation from the Election Commission.

Nearly 41 days after Goa police issued the 'highly controversial' transfer orders of its officers of the rank of deputy superintendents of police and police inspectors

PANJIM: Nearly 41 days after Goa police issued the ‘highly controversial’ transfer orders of its officers of the rank of deputy superintendents of police and police inspectors, the department issued fresh orders on strict recommendation by the Election Commission.

As per the transfer order issued Friday, DySP Nilu Raut Desai has been posted as SDPO Mapusa I, DySP Bossuet da Silva as SDPO Mapusa II, while DySP Dinraj Govekar has been posted to Ponda, DySP Lawrence D’Souza has been transferred to Vasco and DySP G Mhapne has been transferred to Quepem.

DySP Umesh Gaonkar has been given the charge of Panjim police headquarters, DySP Deu Benaulikar has been posted to Konkan Railway. DySP P Mapari will take charge of State Police Control Room, Panjim and DySP Naresh Mhamal will be posted as SO to Director General of Police.

Among the 18 police inspectors, Rajendra Prabhudessai has been transferred to Panjim police station, Prabodh Shirvoikar has been posted to Ponda PS, Suresh Gaonkar has been given the charge of Collem PS, Sudesh Naik has been transferred to Bicholim PS, Siddhant Shirodkar to Valpoi PS, Sagar Ekoskar to Porvorim PS, Bhanudas Dessai has been transferred to Mapusa PS, Ramesh Gaonkar to Maina Curtorim, Suraj Halarnkar has been posted to Cuncolim PS.

PIs Uttam R Dessai has been posted to CID/Security Panjim, Manoj Mardolkar and Vishwesh Karpe have been posted to Immigration Cell at Airport, Sudesh Narvekar has been transferred to Margao Traffic Cell, Brutano Paxito to Crime Branch, Harishchandra Madkaikar to Economic Offences Cell, Nelson Albuquerque has been posted to Valpoi Police Training Centre, Nerlon Albuquerque has been posted to Goa Reserve Police C Coy and Nolasco Raposo to Coastal Security.

The order, which directs all officers to immediately report to their new place of posting, has asked Raposo to hold the additional charge of Election Cell in addition to his own duties.

It may be recalled the earlier transfers were made public after the enforcement of the code of conduct on December 24, 2011, which attracted controversies. 

The BJP has complained over appointments of police officers to politically sensitive police stations on the basis of a report published in the Herald.
