PONDA: The final draft of the ambitious Rs 150 crore Ponda city master plan will be unveiled by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on December 18.
On that day, Parrikar will also lay the foundation stone for the Kranti Maidan beautification work, a part of the master plan.
The draft of the master plan has been kept open for public scrutiny and depending on suggestions, the master plan will be finalized.
PWD and Transport Minister Sudin Dhavlikar, Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar along with PMC Chairperson Dr Radhikar Nayak, PMC CO Johnson Fernandes along with PMC councilors were present when the draft of the Ponda City Master Plan was made open for public scrutiny at the PMC building on Saturday.
According to information, the Ponda city master plan will change the face of Ponda city. Various measures, including three flyovers, have been proposed to streamline traffic flow.
The three flyovers proposed are from Shanti Nagar to old bus stand, Ponda fire station to old bus stand and another from St Mary High School to Vithoba temple.
There will be improved parking facility and various other measures have been taken keeping in mind the next 25 years.
According to information, there are plans for a cycling track, including a jogger’s track in the Ponda city master plan.
