VASCO: After almost a week, Vasco police on Friday recorded the statements of Paresh Barad, in connection with the death of his daughter Priyanka and her friend from bullet wounds at a city hotel in Vasco on March 26.
In his statement, Paresh told police that the family was not aware of any affair between Priyanka and the other deceased, Nandan Pandey.
Paresh, however, informed police that his younger son, Param, knew that Priyanka had a friend by the name of Nandan Pandey.
The father claimed that Priyanka was happy with her marriage proposal and had been looking forward to marry a person from Navelim on April 3.
Police is investigating the case to ascertain if both Priyanka and Nandan had committed suicide or whether one had murdered the other before committing suicide.
Earlier on March 28, police had recorded the statements of Nandan’s uncle, Chandan Bhat, who had arrived from Uttarakhand to take possession of the body.
