‘Proud to Be in Goa, a Place Linked to Portugal’s History,’ Says Al-Nassr Coach Jorge Jesus

Al-Nassr head coach Jorge Jesus expressed his pride and emotional connection upon arriving in Goa, highlighting the deep historical ties between Goa and Portugal.

“With great pride as a Portuguese coach, I have come to Goa. Goa and Portugal share a long history. When I was young and in school, we were taught about how Vasco da Gama discovered Goa for Europe. I’m very happy to be representing Portugal,” Jorge Jesus said while addressing the media ahead of Al-Nassr’s AFC clash against FC Goa.

The Portuguese tactician’s remarks resonated with local fans, many of whom share ancestral and cultural links to Portugal, adding a special emotional layer to the much-anticipated encounter.

His interests also include gardening, cycling, and writing. An enthusiastic ambassador for Goa, he takes pride in sharing its rich heritage. Frazer has published two pharmaceutical research papers in international journals and co-authored a research article on art conservation.
