PSI booked for forging certificates

PANJIM: Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) in Panjim has filed a case of forgery against a Police Sub Inspector (PSI) of Goa Police for submitting forged documents during recruitment in 2018.
As per available information, SP (HQ) Shekhar Prabhudesai filed a complaint that PSI Ritesh Faldessai, a resident of Balli in Quepem, produced forged degree certificate and statement of marks purported to be issued by the Bundelkhand University at Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.
Prabhudesai has stated that the certificates were produced as genuine certificates before the SP (HQ) in Panjim prior to October 11, 2018 for direct recruitment process of PSI in Goa Police and further got recruited based on the forged documents. 
The PSI is accused of committing an act of cheating and has been booked under sections 465, 467, 468, 471, and 420 of IPC.
While the departmental enquiry is also in progress, further investigation into the complaint is in progress with PSI Rahul Naik as investigating officer.
