Punjab Congress leader Khushbaz Singh Jattana was killed in a tragic road accident on Thursday evening after a truck rammed into his stationary SUV in Kundli, police officials confirmed.
The incident occurred in Sonipat district, where the impact of the collision also claimed the life of the SUV driver.
According to police, the accident took place on the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway when a truck struck Jattana’s vehicle from behind while it was stationary.
Jattana, 45, was a prominent Congress figure in Punjab and served as the district Congress president for Bathinda Rural. He had contested the state assembly elections from the Talwandi Sabo constituency in both 2017 and 2022, though he was unsuccessful on both occasions.
Police have initiated further investigation into the circumstances leading to the fatal crash.
