BICHOLIM: Expressing his unwillingness to contest the forthcoming parliamentary elections, Opposition leader Pratapsing Rane has called upon the people to elect both Congress seats in the forthcoming elections.
He was addressing a meeting of Bicholim block Congress Committee members on Tuesday evening at the office of former-Bicholim MLA Rajesh Patnekar. Bicholim Congress block president Prashant Chanekar, Amarnath Panajikar and youth president, Srirang Parab, were present on the dais.
Rane accused the BJP of giving false hopes to Goans. “The BJP has failed to undertake any developmental work and is giving only assurances to the people of Goa,” he said.
He admitted that the Congress had lost during the last assembly elections in Goa because of some mistakes it had committed. “But the BJP did not prove true to the wishes and demands of the people,” said Rane.
