MARGAO: Ravindra Bhavan Margao has become first to get the Polyethylene Tere-phthalate (PET) bottle crushing machine. The machine was inaugurated by Ravindra Bhavan Chairman Prashant Naik, Vice Chairman Saish Palondikar and others.
The machine has been given to the Margao Ravindra Bhavan by Department of Science and Technology. The machine named Bio Crux has an inlet to insert the PET bottle and the machine will automatically start on insertion and shred the bottle into small manageable pieces. The shredded bottle will be then picked by the Science and technology department and further sent to recycling.
After the demonstration of the machine, Prashant Naik said, “This is a Goa Government initiative under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.”
