PONDA: Ponda MLA Ravi Naik has pointed out that the government was wasting crores of Rupees every year on repairing and restoring road after the rainy season, but knowing that rains are an annual feature should build roads using quality material, so that it would last for at least ten years.
Addressing the media, he demanded urgent restoration of road and said locals in Ponda were aghast over bad roads in the city after the end of every rainy season, and that the situation was similar all over Goa.
The Ponda MLA also said that many high mast lamps, including LED streetlights were not functioning at many places and after several complaints from locals, he had called meetings of concerned PWD and PMC officials.
The PWD minister should take steps for better quality of roads and frequent restoring, rebuilding and hot-mixing should be avoided.
