A mentally unsound Russian tourist committed suicide in a hut at Bhom-Paliem in Ponda on Tuesday.
According to Pernem police, a local noticed the body of the unidentified tourist hanging from the roof of a hut and alerted the police.
Incidentally, locals had last seen the tourist walking nude in the Arambol market on Monday.
Locals then took him to the police station, where he was later released.
Police has sent the body for an autopsy at the Goa Medical College (GMC) and Pernem police is investigating the case.
