BICHOLIM: The Sanquelim Municipal Council (SMC) has acted tough on the shopkeepers for using plastic bags and has also removed flex banners in the town.
On the instruction of SMC Chief Officer Pravinjay Pandit, the municipal officials imposed hefty fines against the vendors/shopkeepers who were selling plastic carry bags.
The municipal officials also removed all flex banners in the jurisdiction of SMC. There were several flex banners of advertisements and also some political parties which was defacing the city.
