SANGUEM: Former South Goa Shiv Sena Vice President Dhanraj Naik on Sunday urged the State government to maintain a proper system and a strict vigil at the Mollem border for entry of vehicles from Karnataka State.
With the large number of good carrying vehicles entering into the State through Mollem border, there are increased chances of the dreaded coronavirus cases increasing in the State if the present modus operandi of entry of goods carrying vehicles continues unabated into the State.

Naik, who visited the Mollem border recently informed Herald that more stricter rules needs to be framed if the State needs to be continued in Green Zone in the days to come.
“Going by the present scenario and the number of vehicles entering the State through Mollem border, COVID-19 cases will start increasing numerously,” claimed Naik.
He informed that on the day of his visit to Mollem border there were over 200 vehicles waiting for their entry into State.
While appreciating the policemen of doing their duty as per laid down procedure, but Naik wondered as to what checks and follow up action is resorted once these truckers enter the State.
“Who is keeping a track on their movement in the state during their brief stay in State,” questioned Naik.
He urged the government for stricter checking at the Mollem border and also urged for delaying the running of trains carrying passengers.
With the prevailing grim position in the State and given the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, Naik urged for extreme precautionary measures before the situation turns worse.
