Shopkeeper arrested for keeping store open post 7 pm

Canacona: A shopkeeper selling bakery items was  booked by Canacona Police on Thursday for illegally keeping his shutters open beyond 7pm thereby defying lockdown rules, which have been imposed on all stores across the State.

Canacona police sources stated that Nikhil Gauda, a resident of Shimoga, Karnataka temporarily staying in Canacona was operating his bakery store in the Chaudi market after 7 pm despite the curfew orders, according to which, establishments are allowed to operate only from 7 am to 7 pm.

The owner and all the workers at the bakery were arrested under section 188 of IPC and also violating Section 144. Later, all the accused were released on bail after obtaining local surety.
