PANJIM:: South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes has assured that he will bring up the issue of the tiger reserve in Parliament.
Fernandes criticized the Goa BJP government for disregarding a High Court order, which mandated the creation of a tiger reserve within three months.

” The government is not listening to the court. The court had directed last year to create the tiger reserve within three months. Why are they not doing it? Is it vote bank politics? Or is it their friends of the BJP from the Centre,” Capt Viriato asked.
Despite the court’s directive, the government has made no efforts to implement the order. Fernandes pledged to push the matter further at the central level to ensure the establishment of the tiger reserve in Goa.
“Students of 10 schools came together on the issue of tiger reserve. They understood the importance of the food chain. The students are smart enough to understand that if the tiger is not there, the entire food chain will get affected,” Capt Viriato said.
