MARGAO: The Power House junction is getting more dangerous with each day. Locals state that accidents take place almost daily and that the authorities were shifting the responsibility of installing a speed-breaker to someone else. They demanded the district collector to inspect the junction, failing which they would take matters in their own hands.
Davorlim local Anand Sawant stated the locals had been asking for a speed breaker at the junction for a long time. He said, “I met the PWD engineer and asked him to put a speed breaker at the junction. He said I have to get the collectors order. Is he waiting for a major disaster to happen?”
The locals have been demanding proper planning of the junction since 2007. They had also demanded that traffic police be posted there, but in vain.
