Teachers Must Identify Students’ Talents Early, Says CM Pramod Sawant at GBSHSE Inauguration

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Monday emphasised the need for teachers to begin identifying students’ talents at an early stage, stating that not every child will become a doctor or an engineer.

Speaking at the inauguration of the visually enhanced Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE), the Chief Minister said that teachers play a crucial role in recognising individual abilities and guiding students in the right direction.

He stressed that proper mentoring by teachers would help students carve out their own career paths based on their strengths and interests. Dr Sawant added that such guidance should primarily come from teachers, rather than parents, as educators are better placed to assess students’ academic and skill potential.

The Chief Minister said this approach would help create a more balanced and inclusive education system, allowing students to pursue diverse careers and contribute meaningfully to society.
