PANJIM: The State Government on Thursday announced the Teachers State Award 2018-19, which will be presented on September 13, Friday.
The names of teachers who will be honoured with State awards are mentioned below.
Nilu Putu Jalmi, Headmaster, of Surashree Kesarbai Kerkar High School, Keri Ponda will be awarded for his dedicated service of 36 years. He was awarded Best Teacher Award by Avishkar Social and Educational Foundation Kolhapur.
Shivdas Waman Kauthankar, Assistant Teacher of Government High School, Shirodwadi, Mulgao, Bicholim, has been into service for 31 years. He has written two books namely, Bal Sanskar Katha, Prayog Karuya Gharacha Ghari and Samaj Hitachya Janivetun. He was nominated as Best Teacher by Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali.
Surekha Damodar Pagi, Primary Teacher, Government Primary School, Katta, Amona, Quepem, will be awarded for her dedicated service to the education sector for last 29 years. One of her achievements was her effort to literate the girls from the Dhangar Community during the night for two hours. She was awarded “Shikshan Bhushan Puraskar.
Meena Dias, Special Educator, St. Xavier’s Academy will be awarded in the special education category. She has been working with special children for the last 28 years.
Prakash Narayan Gaonkar, Primary Teacher, Government Primary School, Bhuipal Sattari, has been into service for the last 27 years. He is the President of Goa Rajya Prathamik Shikshak Sangh.
Vijaykumar Babusso Kopre Dessai, Assistant Teacher, Pope John XXIII High School, Quepem, has been working for the last 23 years. As a Scout Master, he always remained close to students by hosting camps at the National and State Level. He used different techniques and remedial practices to reach out to special students.
Then there’s, Sudan Fati Naik Gaonkar, Headmaster, Government High School, Agarwada, Pernem, who has motivated teachers to register themselves for free online training programme.
