MARGAO: Colva police on Thursday evening raided a parlour in a guest house at Colva, which was allegedly been used as a massage joint, and rescued three girls hailing from outside the state and arrested five men from the premises.
Acting on a tip off that the parlour was being used as a massage joint, a police team headed by PI Uttam Raut Desai raided the place in the presence of an NGO. While three girls were rescued by a raiding team, five men, who were found inside the parlour were later booked under the provisions of Suppression of Immoral Traffic Act.
All the three women will be sent to the Women’s Protective Home after recording of their statements, the police said.
PI Uttam Raut Desai informed that preliminary inquiries have revealed that the parlour was being allegedly used for massaging. The police are trying to find out from the three rescued girls how they came in contact with the parlour in the guest house.
He said the Colva police would the Sub-divisional Magistrate, Margao to initiate proceedings for the closure of the guest house. Further investigations are on.
