PANJIM: Following directions from the Government, three departments have withdrawn the advertisements issued by them for recruitment to various posts.
The applications for the posts were invited pursuant to the passing of the Goa Staff Selection Commission Bill, 2019 on August 9. The Department of Fisheries (15 posts), Department of Legal Metrology (14 posts) and Civil Aviation (9 posts) have withdrawn their advertisements. A notice in this regard has been published in the newspapers bringing to the notice of the candidates, who had applied for the posts.
The departments have said that the decision is in the view of enactment of Goa Staff Selection Commission by the government.
These posts include LDC, UDC, multi-tasking staff, peon, stenographer and drivers. Following the passing of the Bill, 1,187 posts were advertised between August 10, of which 1,077 posts were by the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) and another 56 by Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration. Factories and Boilers advertised for 14 posts while Archives and Archaeology also issued for 10 posts. All these posts are yet to be withdrawn. Government had, on October 15, issued a circular directing all departments to withdraw advertisements for posts in Group ‘C’ category published following passing of the Bill. IAS Puneet Kumar Goel will head the Commission.
