PONDA: Two mangalsutras worth about Rs 1.90 lakh were snatched in separate incidents at Ponda and Marcel.

PONDA: Two mangalsutras worth about Rs 1.90 lakh were snatched in separate incidents at Ponda and Marcel.
According to Ponda Police, Jyothi Surlakar of Durga Bhat, Ponda, complained that she was walking towards her home when two persons on a motorcycle snatched mangalsutra worth Rs 70,000 from her neck and fled from the site. 
The incident occurred at Durga Bhat, Ponda junction, on Sunday.
In another incident reported at Ganpati Nagar, Khandola-Marcel, on Monday, Manda Bagath was proceeding towards her house after alighting from a bus when her mangalsutra worth Rs 1.20 lakh was snatched. 
Ponda Police is investigating the case.
PANJIM  REPORTER ADDS: City-resident Shaila Naik was robbed of her mangalsutra valued at Rs one lakh at St Inez in broad day light on Monday. 
According to Naik’s complaint filed at Panjim police station, two motorcycle borne thieves snatched her mangalsutra while she was walking by the roadside at around 11:30am. 
By the time she raised an alarm, the unidentified thieves had fled from the scene. 
Police said the victim could only narrate that one of them was wearing a white-shirt. 
The investigating officer has nonetheless obtained CCTV footage from the establishments located around the area to establish identity of the accused.
